HOW IT STARTED Just over 4 years ago I was in such a different place. After a lot of personal heartache I had changed as a person without even realizing it – I’d lost my confidence and had developed low self-esteem. I decided to get myself out and socializing more by going to the gym, and though I only did gym classes for a while, it really helped me take my mind off of negative things.  I started seeing small improvements in my body, and by the years 2012/2013 I started working with weights properly, and that’s where I really found my passion. Working out has definitely helped me find myself again and has enabled me to live a positive and healthy lifestyle. Getting into fitness has definitely helped me become the woman I am today!  Winning Miami Pro has been the most amazing experience for me, more than I ever imagined  Winning Miami Pro has been the most amazing experience for me, more than I ever imagined. It turned my dream into a reality! At the age of 33 I had decided I wanted to take it to the next level. I had always looked up to my brother (who’s in the fitness industry), so I decided I wanted to give competing a go. “In June 2014 I was involved in a car accident which prevented me from training for more than 5 months.”

I went to watch my first fitness competition at a Miami Pro event, and I fell totally in love with the whole atmosphere, vibe, and how glamorous it was. The competitors oozed confidence, so I made the decision that as the very unconfident person I was, I would try smaller local competitions first. I felt that in this way I could build myself up so that one day I could compete at Miami Pro. I knew it would be an absolute dream to compete there, and that with any luck my plan would also allow me to do well.    “ After a lot of personal heartache I had changed as a person without even realizing it. ” By April/May 2014, I had gotten myself into condition and had done a few small competitions, but then in June 2014 I was involved in a car accident which prevented me from training for 5 months or more. I was very down because of the injuries I sustained and the fact that I couldn’t do the sport that I enjoyed so much. Towards Nov/Dec 2014, I started to train very lightly and carefully with the help and encouragement of my boyfriend Jamie and the guidance of my brother.  “Winning Miami Pro has been the most amazing experience for me, more than I ever imagined. It turned my dream into a reality!”

“I won the Over 35s Fitness Model, and I also won my MP Pro Card. I was absolutely amazed and so overwhelmed that I cried on stage with all the happiness.” By 1st June 2015 I decided to start a proper competition prep and got myself a coach to help me. IFBB Pro Bikini Girl Nina Ross was more than a perfect coach – because of my confidence problems she made herself available to answer my questions at any time of the day and night, and Jamie was also very encouraging, helping me get my confidence levels back up. Once I was in good enough condition where I felt like I deserved a place on Miami Pro’s stage, I decided to register myself and just do it. On 25th October 2015, I went on to win my category, the Over 35s Fitness Model, and I won my MP Pro Card. I was absolutely amazed and so overwhelmed that I cried on stage with all the happiness I was feeling. I would truly like to thank Angie Weston and all the other Miami Pro judges and organizers for putting on such an amazing and well-organised event.                             “My proud moment when I was crowned the Miami Pro “Fitness Model Over 35s Champion 2015.”
